Opened in mid-1999, the Small Business Incubator Center (SBIC) offers new business owners and entrepreneurs in the Columbus-Muscogee County area a supportive business environment during the critical start-up and expansion periods.
The SBIC is the only business service in our community that provides such a comprehensive program in one facility.
Typically, more than 90 percent of all new jobs in a community are created by startup business or expanded firms. The SBIC is designed to help you weather these periods and increase your chances for survival or growth in today's competitive market place.
The SBIC is an initiative of 2000 Opportunities, Inc., a successful non-profit workforce development program that has placed more than 300 disadvantaged and minority young men and women from our community on promising career paths since 1992. The success of SBIC business will result in the creation of more jobs and more economic strength for minority and low income residents.
